Dominance of air pollution, what to do now?

As the world enters the 21st century, environmental pollution, many new species of various communicable diseases are on the rise and environmental pollution is now the main challenge in the world community.

Today, environmental issues have become national and international issues. Environmental pollution is a condition in which the existence and balance of natural objects in our nature is disturbed and some of the objects on the earth disappear, some are in the process of disappearing and some are likely to disappear in the future.

Protecting human health and protecting the environment is a major responsibility of every citizen and state. Environment means the water, land, air, water, wildlife, plants, solids, garbage, forests, etc. around us. The environment is a broad subject matter that deals with natural, cultural, social systems, economic and human activities and the interactions and interrelationships between them. From the environment we are getting direct benefits like bamboo and cotton and indirect benefits like water cycle, nutrient cycle, pollination, soil construction etc.

At present, among the major environmental problems due to increasing population pressure, air pollution, water, soil pollution, climate change, environmental problems, etc. are increasing. Nepal, too, could not remain untouched by the rising rate of environmental degradation and the global interest in its management. Therefore, in the process of fulfilling the material needs of the human race, the various types of infrastructures and physical structures may not be different from the direct impact on the environment and air pollution.

The human community needs to be aware and vigilant to maintain the cleanliness of the environment. It is necessary for all to be aware of the fact that protecting the environment is the common responsibility of all today. Lately, various problems of climate change are appearing due to environmental pollution.

If we do not take care of it right now, it will have a big impact in the long run. Although the creation of the environment is due to the coincidence of wildlife and natural resources in any country, human beings have an important role to play in its protection and promotion.

It is the responsibility of all of us to keep the environment clean, but we are now facing various dire consequences if we do not keep it clean. Climate change adversely affects health, deforestation including green forests, floods and landslides, erosion of roads, degradation of roads and loss of livelihoods, loss of crops in agriculture .

With the advent of urbanization, the use of nuclear weapons, the use of toxic chemicals, the operation of indiscriminate industrial plants, not only human beings but also the fauna and flora of the planet are facing serious dangers.

In particular, rapid population growth, increasing industrialization, loss of vegetation, declining biodiversity, war and nuclear arms race, development of science and technology, excessive consumption of energy and water resources, and increasing use of toxic chemicals.

Air is one of the various elements for our human life. Without food, water and light man can live for a while but without air he cannot live even for a few minutes. The air is naturally pure.

When one or more external elements such as harmful gases, chemical elements and fine particles in the air around us have a negative effect on the health of human, animal and plant (more than a certain amount) then we call it air pollution.

According to meteorologists, the air quality index (AQI) has recently increased in the atmosphere across the country. Therefore, air pollution has increased across the country at present. Such contamination increases the risk of various infections of the chest, throat, lungs and nose as well as the health of a person who is at risk of coughing, sneezing, runny nose, sore throat, headache, chest infection, senior citizens, children, chronically ill and heart patients. Doctors say.

It is necessary to formulate immediate and short term strategies for air pollution control. The long-term strategy is to electrify a certain percentage of vehicles, set standards for pollution control from industry and construction and strictly enforce them. The concept of eco-friendly green city should be brought in the city to be built now.

Their involvement should be made to increase public awareness, reduce the use of plastic products and punish polluters, and make every household aware of its responsibility to control pollution.

There is a need today to take various measures to solve such problems. The earth is the common flower garden of all and it is only we human beings who can save it.
