The importance of environmental pollution and environmental management

The environment is the collective presence of all living and non-living things on earth, animals, plants, air, water, soil, etc. It is also a natural resource. The environment is indispensable for human life. Therefore, Nepal has been celebrating World Environment Day regularly since 1976 to balance the environment.

A healthy environment keeps nature in balance, meets growing nutritional needs, and makes life easier for all living things on earth. But at the present time some of the flora and fauna of the earth have become extinct and some are on the verge of extinction due to increasing environmental degradation.

Due to industrial and scientific progress, production and unmanaged use of chemicals, misuse of natural resources, the environment is becoming unbalanced day by day. Because of this, human life has become difficult. In the process of material progress, human beings have disturbed the cleanliness of the natural environment.

Disturbances in the existence and balance of natural resources have begun to affect the development of the human race. Environmental pollution is found to be due to various reasons. Water pollution, land pollution, noise pollution, noise pollution, and chemical pollution are among the major pollutants.

Causes of environmental pollution: -

Uncontrolled population growth.

Excessive exploitation of natural resources.

Rapid clearing of forest.

Rapid growth in means of transportation.

Lack of public awareness.

Lack of national and international coordination for environmental protection, etc.

It seems that 30 percent of the world's waste is not managed in any way, while the situation of developing country Nepal is even worse. It is important for everyone to understand the importance of environmental protection to solve this growing problem and challenge.

Environmental management is about advancing the pace of development in an integrated and uniform manner while protecting the environmental aspects.

Environmental management includes the use of natural resources, environment protection, pollution and waste management, biodiversity conservation, sustainable use of land and forest and other methods and processes.

The importance of environmental management is the interdependent relationship between man and the environment. On the one hand, basic human needs are provided by the environment, while on the other hand, encroachment on human nature is creating various problems in the environment.

Environmental management is essential to maintain a good relationship between humans and the environment.

The importance of environmental management can be mentioned as follows.

1. First of all, environmental management helps to control environmental pollution.

2. Helps to preserve the existence of all living beings and plants.

3. Helps in tourism development.

4. Reduces unmanaged urbanization.

5. Helps to increase national income.

The environment plays an important role in the existence of life on earth. Earth is home to a variety of living species and we all depend on the environment for food, air, water and other necessities.

Although the creation of the environment is due to the coincidence of the living and natural resources of the earth, mankind has an important role to play in its conservation. So it is our duty to keep the environment clean.
