how prevent air pollution

In India, the problem of air pollution has also been included in the category of serious problems like poverty, hunger, unemployment, etc., whose level is increasing every year. News related to air pollution and deaths are seen daily in newspapers and TV and often such figures keep coming out that the most polluted cities in the world are in India.

The problem of pollution is having a serious impact on our environment as well as our health and people are also getting serious diseases due to breathing in polluted air. Due to the increasing population in India, the needs of the people are also increasing and to meet those needs new buildings, industries, shopping malls, residential areas etc. are being constructed.

A huge amount of forests are being cut for the construction of these buildings. We are busy building a world with fewer forests and more buildings, less fresh, clean air and more smoke clouds. There are many things in our daily activities which are directly being caused by air pollution.

Here we will tell you about the causes and prevention of air pollution, how you can make an important contribution in reducing air pollution.

Causes of air pollution:

1. There are many industries and power plants in India from where polluted smoke is emitted and this smoke mixes in the air and also pollutes the air. This is the reason that excessive amount of air pollution is caused due to power plants and industries.

2. With the increasing population, our needs are also increasing and people have private vehicles also increasing. The use of private vehicles instead of public vehicles, the polluted smoke coming out of the vehicles spreads pollution in the air. This is the reason that nowadays people come out of their homes by covering their nose and mouth with masks or clothes etc. so that they can protect themselves from the elements of pollution present in the polluted air.

3. Chimneys of factories and factories continuously emit large amounts of carbon monoxide, and other chemical fumes, which increase air pollution.

4. The air conditioners installed in our homes and offices release chlorofluorocarbons which seriously contaminate our environment as well as damage the ozone layer.

5. If we look at the current conditions, for the last 3-4 years, there is a serious increase in the amount of pollution in the country's capital Delhi and its surrounding areas after the onset of winter and after Diwali. According to the news and facts, every year after harvesting, the stubble is burnt by the farmers due to which excessive amount of smoke is emitted. This smoke seriously pollutes the areas around Delhi. Pollution is also caused by the bursting of crackers on Diwali.

Effect of Air Pollution on the Environment:

Weather related problems have also come to the fore due to increasing air pollution. Those problems are:

1. Due to air pollution, the normal temperature has also increased and winters are decreasing continuously for the last 10 years.

2. Ozone layer is also decreasing due to greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, which is increasing the temperature.

3. Due to the pollutants present in the environment, there is also a serious impact on human health and people are also getting health related diseases due to pollution. Exposure to contaminated air causes problems like difficulty in breathing, tightness in the chest, burning in the eyes, etc.

According to the well-known newspaper The Telegraph, 9 out of the 10 most polluted cities in the world are in India and this news is very serious for India that we breathe so much polluted air every day. However, there are also measures to prevent air pollution, which every person starts adopting at a personal level, then this pollution can be reduced.

Here are some ways to prevent air pollution:

1. Use public vehicles instead of private vehicles because the fewer vehicles on the road, the less pollution there will be. Encourage your children to take the school bus instead of dropping them off in a private vehicle. As far as possible, use public vehicles to go to the office yourself. You can also use a bicycle because the cycle does not harm the environment and your health will also be fine.

2. Fossil fuels are used to generate electricity used to meet our daily needs and the smoke emitted from it is extremely dangerous for our environment. To avoid such pollution, you should use solar energy, which will save your money and will not harm the environment.

3. Along with installing solar panels in homes, you can also use vehicles that run on solar energy, which do not even require diesel or petrol. Vehicles running on solar energy also do not have the problem of contaminated gas emissions and after cycles, solar vehicles are the most beneficial for the environment.

4. If you use private vehicles then you should do car pooling. In car pooling, you can also take other people in the same car so that everyone does not have to use their personal vehicles and pollution can also be reduced.

5. Instead of burning the dry leaves of your garden, make compost and use it in the garden itself. This will also benefit your plants and there will be no smoke from burning the leaves.

6. The central and state governments should make laws related to environmental protection so that more and more people can take the problem of pollution seriously and prevent air pollution. The odd-even scheme by the Delhi government shows its positive impact every year.

Air pollution has become a serious problem globally. Various health problems are happening due to air pollution and breathing clean air freely has become just a dream. However, by keeping all the above-mentioned measures in mind, you can stop air pollution and build an India where breathing in the open air does not take a toll on health.
