Causes And Prevention Of Air Pollution
Air is essential for survival on this earth. Air is essential for every living being on this earth. Through air we breathe and we can say that it is the basis of our life. But what will happen when different types of poisonous gases, dust particles etc. are mixed in the air present in the atmosphere? The answer we get from this figure is that air pollution is the cause of about 13 lakh deaths in India every year. Now you can imagine that how much air pollution is proving to be fatal for human life and living beings on the whole earth.
Increasing population and modern industrialization are believed to be the reason for increasing pollution in the environment. The drastic reduction in the number of flora and fauna due to pollution has created an imbalance in the environment. In a country like India, where the air quality is deteriorating day by day due to the chemicals used in household use to other materials. It is developing many kind of serious health problem in human body. Let us understand the causes of air pollution and ways to avoid it so that the problem caused by it can be avoided.
1. Growing Population
The rate at which the population is increasing in a country like India is one of the biggest indicators of increasing air pollution. The biggest reason behind this is the indiscriminate use of natural resources. Earlier this problem was confined to the cities only, but now this problem is increasing till the villages. With the increasing population, there has also been a huge increase in industrialization. The toxic air emanating from the industry has polluted the air due to providing employment to the people.
2. Growing Industry
It can be said that the biggest reason for air pollution is the growing industry. The smoke emanating from it has polluted the air the most. This is a problem of most developing countries. Today many cities of India are above the risk mark due to the growing industry. Breathing has become rare in those cities.
3. Means of Communication
Today, due to the increasing population, the increase in various means of communication is increasing very much. The number of engines, buses, aircrafts, scooters etc. is increasing very fast due to the huge increase in these means. All these vehicles are constantly working to create imbalance in the atmosphere with their smoke.
4. Indiscriminate Deforestation
All of us humans have done indiscriminate cutting of forests for our convenience, due to which air pollution has increased. Obviously, trees work to reduce the pollution of the atmosphere continuously. Plants provide life-giving gas oxygen by taking the harmful gas carbon dioxide for us for our food.
5. Nuclear Testing
We increased mutual enmity to such an extent that wars started between the countries and there was an arms race. Because of this people got a very deadly and polluting weapon like atomic bomb.
Ways to avoid air pollution
1. Indiscriminate uncontrolled felling of forests should be stopped. In this work, along with the government, voluntary organizations and every human should stop the destruction of forests and participate in the plantation program.
2. To stop the process of urbanization, employment and cottage industries and other facilities should be made available in villages and towns only.
3. Factories should be set away from the urban area, as well as forced to use such technology so that most of the smoke is absorbed and residual substances and gases do not get mixed in the air in large quantities.
4. Proper arrangement of population education should be made so that population growth is prevented from increasing.
5. The smoke coming out of the fuel in the vehicles will have to be adjusted in such a way that the least smoke comes out.
6. Advice should be given to use such fuel, by using which it gets completely oxidized and smoke comes out to a minimum.
7. By encouraging the technology of smokeless stove and solar energy, it should be made more advanced and accessible.
8. Sewerage should be promoted everywhere for the removal of waste materials in cities.
9. By including all these things in the curriculum of the children, awareness and awareness should be spread about it among the children.
10. Publicity should be done through publicity medium such as Doordarshan, Radio, magazines etc. to make human society aware of its information and its disadvantages.
